Coming in at 126.300.000 people we have Japan. Unlike a lot of countries on our list, Japan’s population is actually on the decline. They actually just started with a really high population in the first place. For the past 50 years, Japan’s population steadily climbed until 2010 when it hit a problem. Japan had low fertility rates and a high life expectancy that less than with a country where not many babies were being made and most people would pass the whole baby-making age. Anyway, in 2014 it was estimated that 33 percent of the Japanese population is aged 60 or older, that’s one in three people. Crazy stuff. Right now they’re actually losing about a quarter of a million people a year.
